Unveiling Leap AI: A Closer Look at Its Lead Research Tool

Have you ever Googled someone before an introductory meeting? Or maybe in your sales role you are tasked with finding as much information as possible about your leads as quickly as possible. The ability to quickly gather accurate and relevant information about those leads can be the difference between a closed deal and a missed opportunity. I came across Leap AI’s Lead Research Agent tool about a month ago & found it surprisingly well at researching individuals if I entered the lead’s email address. Normally, I am quite skeptical about “AI” tools: their accuracy & usefulness just don’t hit the mark for me, yet. Leap AI though, feels like this is closer than most at getting initial lead researching figured out.

Leap AI’s Lead Research works by taking a lead’s email address and, ✨ through the power of AI ✨ and public data sources like LinkedIn and Google, it compiles a detailed report. This report typically includes the lead’s professional background (job title, company, work history, education), links to their social media profiles, and any relevant information found online. Those with a short work career at a new job may not show much though – this usually looks like nothing more than a scrape of public LinkedIn information.

In our experience, the tool consistently delivers mostly accurate information on job titles, companies, and education. However, the depth of information on social media and online mentions varies. For leads with active online profiles, the tool can be a goldmine of insights. For those with a limited online footprint, the information can be sparse.

The tool’s simple interface and quick turnaround time are definite strengths. It also integrates with popular CRM platforms, making it easy to incorporate the data into your existing workflow. I think this will end up being the most enduring strength of Leap, being able to plug it into your existing systems & workflows, reducing the time it takes to add a new tool.

There are limitations to the Lead Research tool though. It relies solely on publicly available information, so it can’t access private data. This means you might not get the full picture of a lead. I found about 9 out of 10 leads came up with correct information, with that last one finding information on the wrong person or nothing at all.

So, is Leap AI’s Lead Research worth it? It depends on your needs and how you plan to use it. If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to get basic information about your leads, it’s a handy tool. But if you need a deeper dive into their background or access to private data, you’ll need to look elsewhere. I don’t foresee this tool replacing any lead generation tools, but it may be helpful in automating the analysis of your top-of-the-funnel leads.

The Bottom Line

Leap AI’s Lead Research tool shows promise in automating the initial stages of lead research. It’s a handy tool for quickly gathering basic information, but it’s not a replacement for thorough due diligence or in-depth research. While it may not revolutionize lead generation, it can be a valuable addition to your toolkit, particularly for automating the analysis of top-of-the-funnel leads.

As AI tools continue to evolve, it’s likely that their capabilities will expand. However, for now, Leap AI’s Lead Research offers a convenient and efficient way to gain initial insights into potential leads, saving valuable time and effort in the early stages of prospecting.
